Leaving from the lobby of your hotel, in an air-conditioned bus or minibus. Our guides will take you through the countryside to visit a traditional country house, where you will have the opportunity to see the coffee and cocoa plantations, as well as the process to prepare them, and most importantly, the culture and lifestyle of the Dominican countryside.
A trip that perfectly shows the daily life of the locals away from tourist resorts. We will go to main city of the Province of La Altagracia – Salvaleón de Higüey – one of the largest cities in the country, stopping in interesting places along the way to explore the culture of the inhabitants where many of them, away from the urbanized world, live a peaceful happy life. We will see cocoa, passion fruit, coffee, sapote, ginger, pineapple, vanilla and sugarcane growing, and we will learn about the process of manual cigar production in a small family manufactory – you can do your own cigar!

During this trip, we will visit a primary school, meet a hospitable Dominican family who will show us their home and host us with regional delicacies. The ranch we visit is located in the picturesque village of Anamüya in the mountains. One of the highlights of the trip is the Basilica of Our Lady of Altagracia, which is a pilgrimage city also visited by Pope John Paul II. We will also go to the local market where you can buy absolutely everything – from headache pills, herbs and spices – to Voodo dolls. After a walk through the market among the aromas of fresh fruit, we will stop at Colmado – a local grocery store for a game of dominoes and a refreshing drink.

We will end the day with sunbathing on the famous Macao Beach – the most famous among surfers in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic. During each trip, there are surprises from the guide and lots of interesting stories about life under palm trees.
